The 64th season of Emporia State University Summer Theatre continues this June and July. The new season features a lineup of four shows sure to please audiences of all ages. The line-up includes “A Dog’s Life” by Sean Grennan and Leah Okimoto, “The Odd Couple” by Neil Simon, “Suite Surrender” by Michael McKeever and “Moo Juice: The Musical” by Krista “Funky Mama” Eyler. All performances will be at the Karl C. Bruder Theatre in King Hall on the Emporia State University campus. Tickets are available from the Memorial Union Ticket Office at 620-341-6378.
Enrollment is now open for Emporia State’s Techmaker summer camp in June.
A bullwhacker turned store-owner and a Kansas newsman with a background in law will be inducted next month into the Kansas Business Hall of Fame.
Being the new kid in school is never easy, and both winning titles in the 2018 William Allen White (WAW) Children’s Book Awards explore the unique obstacles that two new kids face. “Fish in a Tree” by Lynda Mullaly Hunt was selected by voters in Grades 3 through 5 and “Took” by Mary Downing Hahn was selected by voters in Grades 6 through 8.
Sixty Emporia State University students from The Teachers College and three retiring faculty members received special recognition at The Teachers College 34th Annual Honors Banquet held the evening of May 4. Twenty-two received outstanding student awards and 41 students were honored for achievement of a 3.8 grade point average or higher.
