Steve Rodecap has been named the next Director of Athletics at Emporia State University.
I have never been more proud of Emporia State University or more optimistic about our future. On November 17, 2021, then-Kansas Board of Regents Chair Cheryl Harrison-Lee shared her vision for a reformed higher education. She tasked Emporia State with looking “under-the-hood” of Higher Education and experiment with how the model could be changed to enable long-term sustainability.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of ESU’s Year of Celebration marking one of the most transformative eras in Emporia State University’s history. This will culminate at Homecoming, October 31-November 2.
The second and final show for the 2025 Emporia State Summer Theatre season is “Spring Awakening,” an angsty rock musical adaptation of the seminal play about the trials and tribulations of growing up. The Tony Award-winning play from Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater is described as an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock and roll. The musical is for mature audiences only.
The Emporia State University Summer Theatre Company season will be two productions in June, the first step to bringing back a four-show season presented over eight weeks.
Emporia State is hosting a series of free summer activities for those interested in STEM, offering opportunities to explore the cosmos, learn about creatures of the night and receive firsthand career advice from a local scientist and educator.
