Dr. Mingchu (Neal) Luo is an associate professor in the Department of School Leadership/Middle and Secondary Teacher Education at ESU.
He earned his doctoral degree in educational administration with concentration on research methodology and statistics from the University of Nebraska. Before he joined the Department of School Leadership/Middle and Secondary Teacher Education at ESU, he was senior institutional researcher at Emporia State University, where he directed and conducted university-wide studies. He served as coordinator of International Exchange Programs at South China Normal University and middle school teacher in Guangdong, China.
His interests in research include data-driven decision-making, principalship, college student persistence, and school climate. His research has been documented in 20 publications in the refereed journals. In 2017, he received the Excellence in Scholarly Activity Award from The Teachers College.
