Bachelor's of Science (BSE) in Elementary Education Face-to-Face Route
Your degree. Your way.
Face-to-Face Route
Students who select the face-to-face route will experience a college campus experience. Join us on our campus in Emporia, Kansas to engage with our vibrant community while simultaneously pursuing your goal of becoming an elementary teacher.
Students on the face-to-face route complete three blocks of courses, culminating with a year-long student teaching internship. In every block, you will take courses to help you learn how to be a successful elementary teacher and you will be given the opportunity to apply your new learning through firsthand experiences with children.
Elementary education majors on the face-to-face route may elect to add one or more of the following options:
Options
- Paraeducator Option
- Students who select the paraeducator option are employed by a school district as a paraeducator while simultaneously completing courses online or in the evenings. With this option, your duties as a school district employee earn you credit toward your elementary education degree.
- Elementary Education Unified Option
- Students who select the elementary education unified option earn an elementary education unified license, allowing them to work as an elementary classroom teacher or a special education teacher after graduation.
- Four-Week Opportunities Option
Students who select the four-week opportunities option enhance their student teaching semester with a second student teaching placement overseas or with an award-winning teacher.
