Emporia State University was abuzz with activity, alumni, friends and positive vibes during the nearly weeklong celebration of Homecoming 2022.

For the first time since 2019, Emporia State’s Homecoming celebration brings back live theatre, a gala banquet and other in-person events planned by both ESU Alumni and the student Homecoming committee.

An Emporia State alum retired from a successful career with AMC Theatres returns to his alma mater to present the Sam E. and Jeannene Hayes Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 27.

The ESU Alumni Association’s University Service Citation Award recognizes alumni and friends of the University who have made unique and significant contributions to the University, its students and staff members.

Veteran’s Day 2021 will be celebrated on the Emporia State University campus on Saturday, Nov. 6, with two special events — the annual Veterans Celebration followed by the dedication of a new Student Veteran Center on campus.

As Emporia State alumni return to campus for in-person celebrations, the university welcomes the Emporia community to also enjoy the special events. Homecoming 2021 begins Thursday, Oct. 21 and concludes with a matinee of the musical on Sunday, Oct. 24. In between these dates will be a celebration with a live concert, food trucks and a special announcement about Together, Forward, The Campaign for Emporia State.
