A first-generation college student is a student whose parents did not attend a four-year college degree. At Emporia State University, we include any student who may self-identify as not having knowledge of how to navigate college.

Support first-generation students by making any donation to help cover fees for events, trips, and ESU first-gen merchandise.

Upcoming Events Fall 2024

Smore’s by the Lake- September 25th from 2 pm to 3:30 pm: Our first event of the year will be held in PKP room in Memorial Union. Students will learn more about how to get involved with the first-gen RSO while getting FREE smore's kits.

Homecoming Parade- October 5th at 9:30 am: Join First-Gen student organization for a memorable parade celebration. This is an incredible opportunity to present our vibrant community and connect with students, staff, and Alumni.

Pumpkin Painting- October 24th from 6:30 pm to 8 pm: As we celebrate the fall season, we invite you for an evening of creativity; we will provide all the necessary equipment for the painting. ALL students on campus are more than welcome to come.

Board Game Night with Prizes & Snacks- November 21st from 6:30 pm to 8 pm:

Our final event of the semester will be a Game night where prizes and food will be given for FREE. This is your chance to have fun and connect with students while enjoying great food and prices.
